Designed for night scape photography, the HOYA STARSCAPE filter reduces light pollution generated by artificial lights common in cities.

The HOYA STARSCAPE cuts light transmission in the area of the spectrum that is usually associated with light pollution from Sodium and Mercury-vapor lights common to most cities world-wide. Thus, the filter provides a more clear image with natural colors and improved contrast in the night sky.

The filter cuts off in the most natural way the transmission of light spectrum that is frequently presented in city environments and usually associated with Sodium and Mercury-vapor lights.

Other similar filters that cut light pollution by special glass coating can produce color shift especially when used with wide or super wide angle lenses. The HOYA STARSCAPE filter achieves the same result by using a special glass formula, thus no color shift occurs even at wide or super wide angles.

The main genre of utilization of the HOYA STARSCAPE filter is night landscape where the ground and sky are positioned in one composition. The natural colors the sky are truthfully reproduced while other objects left unaffected.

The HOYA STARSCAPE filter is quite helpful in time lapse shooting. By cutting light pollution directly during the shooting process, the amount of time necessary in post processing will be significantly reduced.

The combination of HOYA STARSCAPE and SOFTON-A will allow to enhance even more the bright stars in the night sky, thus making the image more impressive and attractive.

For Clear Contrast

Used primarily for black and white photography. XO is highly effective for outdoor portraits because red is rendered dark while green appears lighter.

Great for correcting skin tones, bringing out facial expressions in close-ups and emphasizing the feeling of liveliness. X1 is highly effective for indoor portraits under tungsten lighting.

FOR COLOR FILM:
These filters, such as K2 (Yellow), G (Orange), 25A (Red), X0 (Yellow/green) and X1 (Green) are primarilly designed for use with Black & White film. However, they can be used with color film to produce special color effects.

Y2 Pro filter especially useful for clear contrast between blue sky with clouds and foreground. Provides a natural tonal rendition. Often used for subjects at intermediate distances.

YA3 Pro filter increases contrast between reds and yellows. Particularly useful for distant outdoor shots taken with a telephoto lens. Also useful in color photography for spectacular sunsets, seascapes, etc.

R1 Pro filter especially effective for increasing contrast. Ideal for dramatic cloud effects in landscapes. Can also be applied creatively in color and infrared photography.

HMC (HOYA MULTI COATED)
These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97%, giving sharp contrast and well balanced color. HOYA HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today's multicoated lenses.

HOYA PROND16 GRAD filter represents blender type graduated round filter designed to balance the luminosity of bright areas with the dark areas in the image. Suggested for those photographers who are specializing mainly in landscape photography. A blender type filter is highly versatile and can be used in a variety of situations, especially when the scenery and horizon have a complex or uneven structure. HOYA PROND16 GRAD filter incorporates ACCU-ND technology, providing the highest quality and the best experience for the photographer.

For JPEG users it is a crucial output. Graduated filter helps to adjust the luminosity of a bright sky with the terrain and as a result we have excellent, overall well exposed ready-to-go image.

For professional photographers who work with RAW data, graduated filter will help to preserve rich pixel data in bright areas. That will make further post-editing process easy and time-saving. Especially this issue concerns bright areas, where pixel rescue is the most difficult process.

Blenders can be used for a variety of scenes especially when the scenery and horizon are too complex to hide the transition of a soft edge filter. Blender type HOYA PROND GRAD filters are extremely versatile and easy to use.

Rotation frame allows precise gradation adjustment according to the composition or subjects positioned inside the image.

HOYA PROND GRAD adopts ND deposition process technology that allows gradation to be distributed equally through the entire filter glass surface. However, to maintain true density value inside the image area we adjusted the effective blending area in the way that the specified density would start and fade out inside that image area. That will help photographers to apply the required density to the image in the most effective way.

HOYA PROND FILTER is a high technological product targeted for both still photography and HDSLR video markets. The PROND filters use HOYA’s exclusive clear optical glass that incorporates a metallic coating on front and back side to equally reduce almost all range of the light spectrum even in the IR area. The ACCU-ND technology used in the coating process perform a truly neutral color balance that will not add any noticeable color cast to your images.
